Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Miami, FL

Son unos ladrones

The story with this company begins like this, they cost me and told me how much was the amount they were going to charge me, we accepted, then when the day came for them to pick up the things they wanted to charge me because they were not picking up at the door but they had I had to walk about 140 feet to get to my door, there they charged me and since I had no other option we had to accept, after a month and a half it took them to get things down from California to Florida, when in the end they called us my partner left From work right away to receive them, they said goodbye not to enter with the change in the distribution, something that is not my business, they collect things at home because they have to leave it at home because for that I pay, they went to the other equine from the street and they said that they were going to leave it for me there and I told them that was not the case, they told me to enter your house I have to rent a small truck and you have to pay $ 500 dollars, I told them you are crazy and He laughed and told me that it was not his problem, then he told me you have a truck if you want I will bring things for your house in my truck but you have to pay me 200 dollars, besides that he wanted to use my car he also wanted me to pay him ,, They charged me 95 dollars and because my partner took 25 minutes to arrive since I called him, and my partner was so upset that he told him you know give me the change because I am not going to leave you even the $ 5 dollars, the man got in his hand in his pocket and he said you have no change ?? Well, I can't do anything for you and he got on the truck and never gave the change, they broke part of my furniture, like the Company is cliffer, like thieves and liars, because they did not return the money and they did not take care of things, and how I am in the United States, we are going to act as the law requires, I am going to file a lawsuit as they have never had it in their life, and I am writing this because I do not want anyone to go through my bad experience, I am not going to sue them for money, I'm going to sue them so they don't play with people because they work here and it costs a lot for them to come and steal money and not just $ 5, they stole my time, my energy, because a lot of effort I had to make to be able to carry the things for my house because we were my partner and I were the only ones who were there and one had to keep the things and the other had to take them and download them alone, the truth is, never in my life will I hire them again and I'm going to take care of putting them this grade in t All the pages they have, and I have photos and videos, I have proof from when they arrived until they left.

Long-distance move from Idaho to Colorado

Happy with our move.

If I had questions or concerns, they were responsive. The packing and loading crew, including the driver, were wonderful to work with.  Very quick, efficient and pleasant.  The delivery crew was also great, including the driver. They went out of their way to make my life easier on a stressful day. I would highly recommend Stevens to anyone I knew who was moving. Excellent people and company to work with.  I would not hesitate to use Stevens again if the occasion arose.

Worst Experience.

I hired Midwest who then gave it to Stevens! My boxes came to
us smashed in with holes table scratched and my Custom made Vase 300.00 cracked. On top of it they where late by 4 days!

Their answer wither the boxes are smashed they didn't pack them we did so their not liable even for the box missing. I have pictures of everything they just don't care!

They offered us 112.00 dollars for all damage and missing items. DO NOT USE THEM OR MIDWEST MOVERS in Illinois!!

Long-distance move from Meridian, ID to Gresham, OR

Move from Boise id to Portland or.

This move was a disaster. The local agent was Boise Office and Moving. I was a dummy to believe them about how great they were and although I insured my move, I chose a $750 deductible, believing that I would not have any claims. All my wood furniture was scratched and nicked, one end table beyond repair. My very expensive off white sofa had black marks all over it, as well as an upholstered recliner. They tore the laundry room floor in my newly built house and put a hole in the wall at the top of the stairs. I don’t believe the furniture was properly padded; otherwise there would not have been so much damage. If Boise Office is typical of agents for Stevens, steer clear of these guys. The movers were in a hurry to return to Boise, and their work reflected their haste. The inventory sheet was not at all specific so was difficult to determine damaged items. I gave them one star as they did one thing right. That was boxing and wrapping two large wall pictures that were damage free.

Long-distance move from El Dorado Hills, CA to Phoenix, AZ

Worst moving experience ever!!

If I could give negative stars I would! Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you love chaos, ZERO communication regarding your belongings and RUDE, CONDESCENDING, people when you FINALLY hear from someone after 3 days of ZERO communication after their truck breaks down in route to your drop off destination!

I was left stressed out of my mind, wondering where ALL of my belongings are and if they are okay (everything I own and no courtesy call!!) and having no idea when it would be delivered!! Nobody even called me to tell me the truck broke down!
The one time I was able to reach the driver..as I was waiting for his arrival, said "oh the truck broke down, someone was supposed to call you." That's all I ever got was them throwing out names of people whom were "supposed" to call me but nobody did for 3 days!!

Then they can't even properly load a 10 x 10 storage unit!! Cramming a 5 x 7 $2000 mirror at the opening for it to fall upon opening the door!! On ME!! Inexcusable on EVERY level from start to finish! They did not even properly tag items as some were coming to a home and others to storage so I needed up with 4 items at the house that were to be in storage and vice CRESA in the storage! This was after being condescendingly assured that they would know what was to be dropped off where! Boxes marked fragile are dented and I will be writing more when I get the courage to go back to the storage and open them up. Who treats someone’s belongings like this?

The WORST moving experience EVER!! And I have moved a lot!!

Stevens Van Lines is reprehensible!

Local move within Illinois

A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing.

Stevens Van Lines (Saginaw, MI) was hired and contracted by me via SafeWay Moving & Storage (Lake Forest, CA) to move our household goods from Southern California to Chicagoland. The "white glove" packing was completed on 8/27/18, goods were loaded on 8/28/18 and delivered on 9/4/18. As there was evidence of damage to some household goods, we had swiftly alerted the broker (SafeWay Moving & Storage) the same day of delivery, asking them to address the issue for us. After the broker confirmed they were getting nowhere w/ Stevens related to any damages, I was informed on 10/18/19 to file an official claim myself, which I did on 10/19/18. Relating to one of our most prized pieces of furniture, our buffet was rebuilt by the driver/team upon delivery. However, when the legs put back on underneath, either the wrong screws were used or they were tightened too much, puncturing the inside of the cabinet from the bottom up, which was completely unnoticeable until we had began loading the cabinet well after the team had gone.

Without sending anyone to my property to physically inspect the damage, Stevens had swiftly denied my claim on 10/25, with the following rebuttal, which they continue using today. "As this item is one that would be used on a daily basis it is reasonable to conclude that if the loss occurred while the item was in our custody, it would have been noticed either at delivery or shortly thereafter. The damage/loss for this item was not reported until 46 days after delivery. We find that the 2nd element of Carmack has not been proven. When this shipment delivered you signed the inventories acknowledging that the shipment was received in apparent good condition unless otherwise noted. You did not note any damage to this item at the time of delivery. There is no evidence that the damage that is now being claimed is a result of our handling or that this item changed condition while under our care, custody, and control. Therefore, we must respectfully deny liability."

Unfortunately, they continue holding their line on this excuse. And their contracts are written so vaguely that any wrongdoing will always be pointed back at the consumer while protecting their corporation.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Stevens- Find Another Moving Company !

I found Stevens on the BBB list as an A rated company and not sure how they got that rating. I left Austin TX on a Monday with a promise my delivery would be in Florida by that Friday. I sat around all day long in an empty house from Fri-Sun calling at least 25x with no return calls. The following Monday, someone eventually picked up the phone and when I said my name the phone went silent. Eventually I heard a voice say "We are sorry. We did not want to call you back because we did not know what to tell you" -Wrong Answer ! He then stated that he did not know when my delivery would be there and they would have to get back to me but he would start at inconvenience claim form and send to me. In short, the delivery showed up much later than communicated, only two people showed up to unpack, boxes were packed with items from all different parts of the house (boxes labeled kitchen were loaded with bedroom items etc)and then my claim was eventually denied. I was told they delivered within my two wk window per my contract. So, if you do not mind being lied to and wasting your time, spending extra time moving boxes around to the correct locations to unpack and going through the frustration of filling out their claim paperwork when you will not be compensated-Might not be a bad choice. Oh - Almost forgot- Missing about 6 items but they do not want to hear about that.. Jason-.

Long-distance move from Washington to North Carolina

Stevens Van Lines are friendly crooks.

Although our agent (employee name removed by company request) was very professional, the other Stevens Van Lines representatives were untrained subcontractors. They didn't show up or call the day they were supposed to (Richard had to track them down) and then arrived unannounced caused me to miss work. Then they (and by they I mean one guy and a kid cousin) threw everything at random inside the house, broke several items, and lost others. We paid a premium price for professional service and got less than other movers offer for $3000 less money. We were reimbursed for the damage/loss but clearly Stevens makes huge profits rather than hiring real movers and delivering on their marketing promises. Even the truck was old and beat up and broke down at the house.

Weeks Late, Quote was NO where near Actual Payment!!

DO NOT USE THEM! Truck was loaded on July 24 going from MI to CA today is Aug. 11 and HOPEFULLY goods will be here tomorrow.  Was told we will be reimbursed for lodging and meals and expenses with receipts..we have seen other people getting $100 per day for reimbursement..this is all AFTER we were told that our load was overweight and we have to pay another $3500 THIS IS AFTER a salesmen went through Our entire house, Garage and Shed and gave us an estimate.  Yes we did add and subtract some things along the way but our FIRST and Original Estimate was actually HIGHER than the actual shipping quote!!  I cannot believe a Moving company can Under Estimate by $3000! Then after arriving in California we attempted to contact salesman to get final payment so we could get cashiers check ready since shipment was supposed to be delivered between Aug 1 and Aug 5 he finally got back to us after 3 days gave us final amount of over $11,000 and told my wife to contact corporate on expenses for inconvenience.  Although we appreciate the little amount for reimbursement how about also looking at the GROSSLY underestimate of the move itself!!

Long-distance move from Wisconsin to California

Stay Away from Stevens Van Lines.

Stay away from this company!   Moving from WI to CA.
My family has had to endure many moves due my military career. In our experience, this is the worst moving company to date. After reading all the reviews online, it seems I’m not alone.
On day two of packing, I overheard the driver ask the apparent boss, “Should we tell him about the dresser?” The boss simply shook his head no and then looked over his shoulder to see if I heard. This crew was terrible. The boxes were not clearly marked; they destroyed my walls and floors and forgot to pack many items then complained about having to pack them.
They picked up my goods on July 17th with a “contract” delivery date of August 1st. Shipment wasn’t delivered until August 17th. I can understand a company being 3-4 days late, it happens, but over half a month late is ridiculous and unprofessional. Getting shipment updates from this company is also a joke. The only time I was updated on when my delivery “should” arrive is when I called them.
The delivery crew was also a joke. They complained about unpacking the boxes (it’s in the contract) and tried to deliver many items that didn’t even belong to me (I feel sorry for whomever they do belong to). They also had a 15 year old kid working with them. While this young man was very polite, he was constantly dropping my boxes and I even caught him throwing one into my daughter’s bedroom which contained a lamp. Total I have eight damaged pieces of furniture. Four of those are completely destroyed.
I’m rating Stevens two stars for now. I have a feeling after all the property damage paper work is done, I’ll be dropping the rating down to one star.
P.S. Don’t fall for the “We have A rating from BBB” statement. The Better Business Bureau is a joke now. Their ratings are skewed by the time the company has been opened and complaints not being followed up causing them to be closed without resolve.   Stevens has had 19 official complaints within the BBB in the past 12 months and 44 in the last three years.  .

Good experience!

We used stevens to move from the suburbs of chicago to the suburbs of austin.  They arrived the day we requested at about noon.  They had some tire trouble the day before that delayed them, but they called to let us know they'd be late.  Everything arrived intact and was accounted for.  Two movers came with the truck and two I think we're from local affiliates.  All friendly and polite (called me ma'am when asking where boxes should go).  All good with my seven year old son who was around and curious.  They finished at about 6:15 (including time to reassemble a tricky bunk bed set).  I was expecting the worst, and was pleasantly surprised with the results.  We used stevens based on a recommendation from my brother in law who used them for a military move.

Disappointing - POOR Communication & No Resolution after 3 Months!

Terrible Nightmare..Stevens communication is non-existent with their customer. If you have a moving coordinator I have no idea what they do because they did nothing for us other than take our money. Moving is stressful and we moved 10 hours away. They did not meet the delivery deadline, after escalating calls up to the VP level, finally things showed up only to find the driver states all of our belongings are not on the truck? We watched them loaded and they took the liberty of removing about 30% of our belongings, placing them into a warehouse and squeezing someone else's things into the truck. TWO WEEKS LATER - after numerous calls they MAILED CRATES containing the remainder and hired Atlas Moving company to unload them. There were boxes belonging to someone else in our crates. Damages..too long to list and given our move took place on 6/22, we still cannot get anyone to call back about the damage claim which they tried to short us on. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY and most of all risk all the stress and chaos involved with dealing with Stevens during a time in which moving is already stressful enough. If you are interested in broken promises and exhausting months of your time trying to be made whole again..Book em. BEWARE.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Nevada

Terrible service.

We chose this company because of the discounted rate from our real estate agent.
The initial consultation went well. But when it came time to fulfill their promises, they claimed they never made them. Get EVERYTHING IN WRITING.
1 - Sales rep said we would have our own truck and not be sharing. Lie.
2 - Sales rep said she would come out a few days early to make sure our packing was on track and no issues. Lie.
Pickup time scheduled for between 8am and 10am. I called them at 10:15am. They said the driver was over his hours limit and would be late. They already knew this and could have called in the morning to warn us. Complete failure. They could have also sent over the rest of the crew to start prepping the house with padding and mats and staging items. They were sitting at the office waiting for the driver.
The packing was incredibly slow. We packed most of our own stuff well in advance and had left china and other breakables for them.
They did not leave our house until 4am, yes am, after midnight. Of course, this put the driver over hours and unable to make his smaller poickup the next morning that was filling the rest of the truck. So that customer got screwed over, too.
The driver did not have enough inventory tags or sheets, so much of our shipment was undocumented. After delivery (which went much better), we found were were missing a box of china coffee cups. The tried to deny the claim and eventually gave us $200 of the $360 in replacement costs.
In short, do not use Stevens. Regardless of who you use, get every small promise in writing.

Long-distance move from Washington to Idaho

Excessive Damages.

Stevens moved us from Seattle to Sun Valley, Idaho.  Their representative visited our home and gave an estimate of weight and time to pack and load.  When moving day came, two trucks with crew came to our house.  When the trucks were full, they simply left, leaving many items behind, items that had been included in the company's estimate.  We called to complain, they returned the next day to pick up what they had left.  In Seattle we were told that items we packed would not be covered by insurance and that they should pack the valuables.  We did pack some ourselves and rented a small Uhaul truck to move them.  Nothing moved by us was damaged.  The contents from the trucks that removed our household goods were transferred to a "long haul" truck.  Upon arrival we found extensive damage to dishes, glassware, and pieces of art and furniture.  Our dining room table had numerous small scratches on it.  Later they denied they had moved the table. They moved several items that we had sold to the people who purchased our house, they were clearly marked that they should not be moved, but they were and had to be returned to Seattle.   At the end of the day unloading, the supervisor who had been monitoring the move and noting the arrival of the goods by marking them off on the inventory sheet, commented that he had started his career in moving as a packer and, as he had noted the large number of broken or damaged items during the day, suggested I sit down in front of him and list what had been damaged and our general feeling about the move.  He commented that whoever had packed our goods did not know how to pack.   I did write the letter, signed it as did he.   We filed our report of damages and received a visit by the company's representatives.  They took a number of photographs and also commented on the extent of our damage. After some time, we recieved a response from Stevens as well as a check for damages.  The check was for $150.  That amount does not come close to paying for the damages they made, for the clean-up still required or the destroyed items.  And, as mentioned they even denied moving our dining room table.     I urge anybody reading this to not, under any circumstances, use Steven's Van Line. They are not professional, do not admit their mistakes or responsibility.  So we were left with no alternative but to seek legal damages.  Avoid them at all costs.

Long-distance move from Michigan to California

Moving Experience.

My Mom moved to CA from MI. My parents have used this company in past years and were very happy, hence the reason we called for a quote when my mom needed to move. This experiecnce was very poor. They communicated very little, seemed uninterested in our inquires, were late delivering the goods to our home and  there was damage to furniture and box contents. Of most importance was the lateness of delivery and the non-caring attitude that they were late and could do nothing to compensate my mom for the fact that she did not have her personal belongings for over a week beyond what was promised. Fortunately we purchased the insurance to cover the damaged property. Because of how they transport - our goods were loaded and reloaded into different cargo units at least 3 times. One more area of risk for increased damage.   I would not use this company. Find one that genuinely wants your business.   I will say - the company that delivered my mom's property on behalf of Stevens was fabulous. They work independantly and with other companies and I would recoemmend them. They were nice, caring, experienced and very careful with all the property. Their name of the company is Grace Moving.

Worried.

I move around a lot being that my job does consist of it and every single time I have moved it is always a hassle something is always broken or missing. My friend recommended me to call Steven Van Lines and I am sure glad that I did from the moment I called they were so nice and friendly and reassuring. Everything was packed nicely and when I got to my new home everything was there nothing was missing or broken the whole time I that I didn't have my stuff I was worried, worried for nothing about because every thing arrived perfectly. I want to take this time to say thank you so much I am so glad I finally found someone who I can trust and is honest. I will never ever have a stressful move again knowing that they have my stuff all taken care of I can't thank you enough I will be recommending you to all my coworkers and everyone else that I know who needs to be moved thank you.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Ohio

Unacceptable Amount of Damage!

My wife and I were given your moving service for our military move from Castle Rock, Colorado to Dayton, Ohio this past August and it has been by far the WORST move in our 10 years with the military. I'll start at the beginning. Our goods were originally scheduled to be packed up over a two day period, when no one arrived by noon on my scheduled packing day I called the company to find out where everyone was. They informed me that they felt it would only take one day to pack so they canceled my first day. No written notice to me, no phone call, nothing. Just didn't show up and cost us a day at work sitting around waiting for nobody. Day 2 they showed up on time and were great in the beginning, until around 5pm when they still had several rooms to finish packing. They finished around 7:30pm. It wasn't until we received our belongings in Dayton that we realized the last boxes that were packed (which were in the garage and pictures from around that house) had absolutely no padding and were crushed during shipment and storage. Speaking of the delivery, I asked the delivery team to show me the boxes as they came in so I could check my inventory and make sure everything was there. The crew leader informed me that he already checked it off and had his team unpack them and throw them in the truck before I could see all the numbers. I still don't know if we received all of our boxes. On top of all this, we had a very large claim (dishes shattered, air conditioning unit smashed in, furniture legs torn off, refrigerator plug torn off) which we notified the company of over the phone within a month, yet when we filed a claim it was denied noting that they "respectfully denied responsibility."  I'm not sure why they feel they can treat their military customers so poorly, maybe because of their contract they know that we cannot CHOOSE their service and therefore our opinions don't matter. I can tell you I will do everything in my power to NOT use this company for our next move.

Awful experience.

We could not have had a more unpleasant experience. Like the previous reviewer I also had to contact the BBB. Shipment was 2 weeks late, no communication at all and refused to reimburse for damages/items that weren't delivered. After helping unload the entire truck in the dark with only one other mover, the driver forced us to sign the landing bill (since it was 11pm) before we were able to go through everything assuring us that we had 90 days to make any claims. This should illustrate how they like to do business:They shipped a box of framed art work separate from our belongings-all of which were damaged beyond repair-and refused any compensation whatsoever citing that they had no record of the shipment. I kept the box that is clearly labeled "Framed Art Work-32lbs" and has a shipment label from "Steven's Vans Lines" printed on the box. When I sent them a picture of the box/shipment label they still denied my claim! Again, they said there was no record. Even with photographed proof they refused. Apparently, the customer is always wrong. What a nightmare. There isn't a price someone could pay me to use this company again.

Long-distance move from Washington to Colorado

Insolent Movers, Bureaucratic Claims, and You Pay for Arbitration.

We recommend you do not use Stevens Van Lines. We moved from Seattle to Lone Tree, CO, and the only good part of the move was that the delivery in the Denver area was within the time frame requested.

Now, here’s the bad part of the move:

The movers were surly, and even though the items we had in separate storage in Seattle were now shuffled in with our household items, (a major problem), they seemed annoyed that we had to sort out which items to move into our new home on their truck!! Consequently, our move took twice as long as it should have! Items were not checked off as they were removed from the truck.

One mover in particular was very rude, complaining under his breath, but within earshot, about our not caring about their schedule. The movers were more concerned about how long the move was taking, rather than whether the job was done right. We were also charged an additional $300 on the move-in day.

The movers damaged our new condo complex (broken light fixture) and to the condo floor. The king bed was assembled incorrectly by the movers. I noticed the bottom right drawer under the bed did not slide shut properly. The driver appeared to fix it so it shut properly, but did not in fact fix the drawer. We only found that out some weeks later when we attempted to pull the drawer out more than half way and the bottom assembly fell out.

After the unprofessional, unpleasant, and insulting move, the charge resolution process began. We expected that a local claims adjustor would visit, which was the process in a previous corporate move with a different vendor. Instead, the claims resolution process proceeded in a confusing, highly bureaucratic, and unpleasant manner. First, we had two separate forms and claims; one for move-in damage to the rental property and one for the goods being moved (called ‘cargo’). These were handled by two different people!

We requested that a local claims adjustor visit (Stevens has an office less than 20 minutes away). Incredibly, that was denied. Instead, we could only deal with claims adjustors in Michigan by writing (email or letter). Only photographs were accepted.

When we requested that they send someone out to repair the bed drawer, that was denied. They said any claim related to the drawer (we just wanted it fixed!) was invalid, as it was not noted on move-in. We had, in fact, told the driver. We did not note any damage on the move-in form as we thought he’d repaired it. It was only when we tried to put clothes into it that the bottom fell out. Claim denied.

We had no recourse with the claims process other than arbitration. Worse yet, you have to pay some $300+ just for the arbitration process. It is not free, as we expected, so we did not pursue it.

Overall, the movers were extremely disorganized and unprofessional, and the claims process equally insulting. We suggest you use other interstate movers, and definitely not use Stevens.

Long-distance move from Washington, DC to Bellingham, WA

Don't use Stevens!

I have moved across the country many times. Never have I encountered the denial of responsibility for damages that occurred with Stevens. I moved from two locations in DC to WA. The driver was in a hurry to leave for another delivery and didn't come into our condo. His wife hurried me to sign the papers, claiming that I could later inspect for damages and file any report. I remarked to her that there were damages. I also contacted our local representative, Perry Moving, the next day, to report the same information. Upon filing the official claim, Stevens denied responsibility for most damages, stating that these had to be marked on the original invoice (only one was marked). They paid a nominal amount for a broken sofa, while including numerous xeroxed pages of sofa legs we could purchase (not even the problem). The damage was more extensive and was not even a broken leg, as they misinterpreted. They also paid a nominal amount on 4 broken floor lamps. The shipment of the parts cost more than their settlement amount, which did not cover the parts themselves. They did not offer anything to repair damage on two Italian lacquer cabinets (valued at $7000 each). We photographed breaks in the lacquer, scratches, misassembly. They stated that this had to have appeared on the sheets on moving day. Another vintage Knoll Pollock chair sustained a broken arm, not visible on moving day (black arm, one of 4 such chairs). Again, Stevens denied all responsibility. No one would talk with us. They stated that our only alternative was to file for arbitration, which would have cost us at least $300. We have dealt with national moving companies who have sent adjusters and followed through with repairs on damaged items. Stevens self-insures and manages to hold onto money that was supposed to cover damages. This is the worst business practice! NEVER use Stevens if you value your possessions.

Stay Away From Stevens.

Worst move I have ever had.  The salesman came to our home to give us a quote.  He reviewed all of our items.  The movers came and rushed packing. They broke several items and marked up my walls!  When they unloaded they placed all of the boxes in the wrong rooms and placed a lot of boxes in the garage.  We essentially had to move them ourselves.  Then they called and said we owed another $900 for extra glass and weight.  I called and explained that we had nothing new and that we should have been quoted for what we had.  They did nothing to resolve our issue.  Their customer service is horrible.  They are dishonest.  STAY AWAY!  I hope I have saved you some headaches!

Long-distance move from Kansas to Massachusetts

Horrible company that doesn't care about your family or property.

First we were told we would probably get our stuff LAST Friday. We signed for an apartment (so now we are paying rent). Then we were told no later than Monday. Then we were told our stuff was still in Kansas because the driver bailed on them. They had no idea when we would get our stuff. Then we were told its looking like it might be this week. We asked about an Inconvenience claim being that our stuff was delivered late, it took two days and talking to atleast 6 different people and getting 6 different stories about what they pay for. My kids continue to sleep on the floor, Im paying rent for an apartment that they told me to get but I don't have my stuff. The customer service is horrible, they will not return your call, have horrible attitudes, give false information and could care less about your family. They want me to pay for the cheapest piece of crap pots/pans/air mattresses/linens and then only claim to reimburse 50% of the cost because they have 'Extended Use'. If I wanted a piece of junk air mattress or piece of junk pots and pans I would already own them. If I already own nice beds and nice pots and pans why would I want piece of junk pieces that Im never going to pull out and use again. So we continue to sleep on the floor because Im not coming out of pocket for something that Im never going to use again. This company is by far the worst I have ever dealt with in any field and its not even close.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Virginia

Nothing else could have gone wrong.

Not sure which part was worse.  Could it have been the disregard given to fragile furniture that was pointed out to the company when they did their initial site survey?  Every piece I pointed out as needing special attention arrived broken.  Could it be the fact that I was told the afternoon before our scheduled delivery that they would arrive between 8:00 and 9:00am only to call them at 9:30 on delivery day to find out they had no idea when they would arrive but it would be no earlier than that afternoon?  They showed up at 4:00pm!  Maybe the worst part was that a day-laborer showed up at our house without warning looking for a guy named Freddie.  Who is Freddie, you ask.  He was the driver of the truck that hadn’t arrived yet.  They basically hired three day-laborers to unload our truck.  None of the three were physically capable of doing the work.  Boxes were dropped.  Walls were gouged and scuffed up.  I made one guy sit down and drink water because he was about to pass out.  Also, one guy just got out of prison a couple days earlier (he volunteered that information).  We also loved that they kept talking about how nice our house and all our stuff was.  Needless to say I slept in our unpacked house that night to make sure they didn't come back.  I could have hired guys off of Craigslist to do a better job.  How about the fact they were supposed to partially unpack our stuff and reassemble the furniture?  They didn't.  Then we have the claims department that "understood" how awful our move was and responded by saying our $1500 antique curio cabinet was worth $250 because they found one that sold for some crazy low price at a random auction.  FYI.. I found similar curios selling for as much as $2400.  This was a HORRIBLE experience and I would never hire nor recommend them to anyone.  If Stevens would like further information on our experience feel free to look up my contact information on Claim #13-65017.  .

Long-distance move from New York to Tennessee

Dishonest.

I am still angry with Stevens, a year after our move. When I read the previous review, I thought that I should also write on this board to say that Jim is correct. The claims department is very dishonest. I paid for full insurance and got nothing for two pieces of furniture that they damaged. (The driver even admitted that they damaged them.) I will not waste my time in re-telling the whole story. I would just recommend that people find a different company. Don't use them.
